To be eligible to enter the Bendigo Business Excellence Awards, both Businesses and Individuals must meet the following Criteria:

New Business Category entrants must be less than 3 years in business since the commencement of trading, regardless of change of ownership, as at 1 July in year of entry. 
A business, except in the Local Outlet of Parent Company, Franchise or Buying Group, must be responsible for all financial, marketing and business decisions.
A business winning in one year cannot re-enter the next year.
Number of employees should be based on full time equivalents and be true and correct as at 1 July in the year of entering.  
Applicants can only enter in one category for business but can have a staff member entered in employee category.
Each of the business criteria for the entry must be addressed in one page or less.
Confidentiality is assured for all entrants. In return, entrants must provide on request any financial records, business and marketing plans as requested by judges.
All entries ( including copies ) will remain the property of the Business Excellence Awards and will not be returned. On completion of the awards entries will be securely destroyed.
A short list of up to 5 entrants in each category will be selected based purely on the written application. These entrants will then be given a site visit to further clarify their claims for the award.
From the site visits 3 finalists will be selected in each category.
Where a site visit is required, it is requested that where possible the person who prepared the application should be available for the judges to clarify any parts of the application.
Whilst acknowledging that each business has heavy workloads and tight time frames it is expected that the business will be available for a visit within a time that is reasonable to both parties. Failure to do so could result in that business being ineligible to proceed to the next stage.
The judges, organisers and sponsors will not be held liable for any actions, or losses incurred as a result of entering, judging or participating in the award.
A Business entering the awards must be located within the council boundaries of the City of Greater Bendigo. including but not limited to the townships of, Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Golden Square, Kangaroo Flat, Strathfieldsaye, Epson, Huntly, Marong, Raywood, Woodvale, Maiden Gully, Lockwood, Ravenswood, Mandurang, Axedale, Heathcote, Mia Mia, Redesdale Eppalock, Goornong Elmore etc …
The only people**  not eligible to enter  the Bendigo Business Excellence Awards are  the judges, sponsors ( in their own categories ), the Bendigo Business Excellence Awards  committee & Board members of the Rotary club of Bendigo Sandhurst.
** "People" includes the individual and any business owned or operated by them.
Entries must be received at the specified location by the date indicated by the Awards committee, no entries received after that date will be accepted.
